Christmas is coming....

And I am PLANNING to crochet some gifts...the operative word is PLANNING.  lol

for those of you who do this, what have been your experiences?  do you ever feel disappointed with the recipients reactions?  Do you decide who would actually APPRECIATE the handmade good or not?  DO you just make them because you want to and don't really care what the reaction is?
